Holt is seeking a highly motivated Airport Design Engineer or Airport Designer who will be responsible for design efforts for airside and landside airport infrastructure and development projects for both commercial and general aviation airports. Tasks will include, but are not limited to, preparation of technical studies and reports, engineering design concepts, construction plans, specifications, opinions of construction costs, and assistance during construction phase services including field observation. As part of the Holt Team, you will contribute to our continued success by:
Demonstrating 2+ years of successful experience with engineering/design of airport improvements, including pavement, drainage, utility, and landside/site projects; designing runways, taxiways, and support facilities; developing airport layout plans, construction cost estimates, and performing computer aided design; developing and direct design and preparation of technical reports, calculations, project drawings, details & specifications; developing high-quality deliverables.
A successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge and application of FAA design standards and specifications; expertise using engineering design and office software, including AutoCAD Civil 3-D and MS Office; and the ability to balance the need for independent and collaborative efforts. Construction administration and observation experience preferred. Candidate should possess the ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
Current driver’s license and ability to obtain airside security badge at commercial service airports and passing required security background check is preferred. The design engineer candidate is preferred to hold a Professional Engineering or Engineering In Training registration in SC, GA, or NC or possess the ability to eventually become licensed in these states.
This position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some travel and field work.
